Equine Secret of the Day

“It’s when you’re closest to falling off, you find out just how good a rider you truly are.”

Pam found this out the day Cisco decided to take off running up the hill towards his dinner – with Pam on board!

Pam says “I had been taking riding lessons for 5 months and leasing Cisco for one month. I was riding in my english saddle (no horn to hold onto!) and made the mistake of nudging Cisco with my heel, so we could catch up with Julie.

Cisco took that as me wanting to run home and he ran flat out. I remember hanging on thinking ‘I can’t fall off, I’m leaving for my 50th birthday weekend in the morning!’ And I stayed on for the whole wild ride. It was then that I realized I really do know how to ride.”

And isn’t it just like that in life, generally?!
